Angela Lee Mendoza

MENDOZA, Angela (Angie) Lee A native Santa Barbaran, was born January 11, 1960. Our loving sister, daughter, mother, grandmother, tia and friend slipped from our arms into eternal peace on June 16, 2012. Angie had the most vibrant personality and giving heart of any angel on earth. Her beauty, laughter, and gorgeous smile will never leave our memories. She saw only beauty in her large family and circle of friends, her generosity to all who shared in her life will always be remembered. Angie overcame many obstacles in her life, but her inner strength and sassy sense of humor ensured she was always the first to embrace new and exciting adventures with her special buddy, Border Collie Levi, by her side. She truly cherished every one of her family and loved every minute spent with all her amazing cousins. An avid reader and fan of old Hollywood movies, she inherited a love of cooking from her grandparents. She was recognized as the ultimate hostess; no doubt Angie, grandma and grandpa will continue creating delicious recetas together in heaven in preparation for the next big fiesta! Our hearts are bereft without her, our tears endless but we will cherish memories of every second spent with her. A successful and committed esthetician for 15 years, her greatest sense of accomplishment came from being a mother to her 2 children, Lina Vargas and Jeff Silva and Lita to Daniel Vargas and Sarina Rodriguez. She is re-united in heaven with her mother and best friend, Marilyn Mendoza; grandparents Daniel and Elisa Mendoza, Uncle Phil Mendoza and son Jeff's father, Danny Silva. Angie leaves behind on earth her eternally devoted father, Dan Mendoza, loving sisters Marci Mendoza Boggs, Lisa Mendoza Querfurth, and Dana Mendoza; as well as many special aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews. Also family is Angie's very special love JC Lopez, who re-entered her life after they first fell for each other back in the 5th grade. He enveloped her in the warmth of his strong love, brought the music of the oldies back into her life and always called her "Doll". He brought the giddiness of their school yard crush back into their lives and home and constantly left her love notes and letters scattered throughout the house for her to find. He also brought her tremendous joy and happiness and made her laugh everyday. The family will be forever grateful to him for his devotion to our girl. Rest, our beautiful Angie, till we meet again and know we will always protect and keep your memory alive within each of us. Angie will live on in our hearts forever and ever. XOXOX A memorial service will be held at the Holy Cross Chapel on the Mesa at 10:30 am June 25, 2012. Immediately following will be a celebration of Angie's life in the picnic area at Ledbetter Beach below Shoreline Park. Gifts of flowers for the church are welcome and will be taken to the beach. Special thanks go to the lovely and compassionate staff at the Serenity Hospice House and Dr. Vincent DeRosa who so gently cared for Angie.
