Jesus "Prieto" Hernandez was born December 20, 1926, he passed away peacefully on Tuesday, October 9th, surrounded by his family and loved ones. He lived 91 happy years. Prieto will be lovingly remembered by his wife of 66 years, Angela, his daughter Ana and his grandchildren; Crystal, Danny, Diana, April and Elaina. Jesus, along with his wife Angela started the St. Raphael's Spanish choir in 1954. Jesus was known for his strong tenor voice. Jesus and Angela have been active members of the St Raphael's church for 64 years. He enjoyed Trios, Musica Romantica and Classical music. Jesus also enjoyed playing soccer and was the Center Forward in the Irapuato Soccer club of Santa Barbara. Jesus opened a shoe repair shop, "Hernandez Shoe Repair" in downtown Goleta. He operated the Hollister shop for 35 years until he retired in 1989 to spend more time with his grandchildren. Jesus was a loving husband, father and grandfather. "For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only son that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life." John 3:16 Service Information: A prayer service and rosary will be held at St. Raphael's Church on Wednesday, October 17, 2018 at 7pm. Funeral service will be held at St. Raphael's Church on Thursday, October 18, 2018 at 10 am Jesús "Prieto" Hernández nació el 20 de Diciembre de 1926, falleció tranquilamente el martes 9 de Octubre, en compañía de su familia y seres queridos. El vivió 91 años felices. Se recuerda a "Prieto" amorosamente por su esposa Angela de 66 años, su hija Ana Maria y sus nietos; Crystal, Danny, Diana, Abril y Elaina. Jesús, junto con su esposa Ángela, fundaron el coro español de San Rafael en 1954. Jesús era conocido por su fuerte voz de tenor. Jesús y Angela han sido miembros activos de la iglesia de San Rafael durante 64 años. El disfrutó de Tríos, Musica Romantica y Musica clasica. Jesús también disfrutó el juego de fútbol y fue el delantero central en el club de fútbol Irapuato de Santa Bárbara. Jesús abrió un taller de reparación de zapatos, La "Reparación de calzado Hernández" en el centro de Goleta. Operó la tienda en la calle Hollister durante 35 años hasta que se jubilo en 1989 para tener más tiempo con sus nietos. Jesús fue un esposo, padre y abuelo amoroso. Servicio de información: Se llevará a cabo un servicio de oración y un rosario en la Iglesia de St. Raphael el Miércoles, 17 de Octubre de 2018 a las 7 pm. El servicio fúnebre se llevará a cabo en la Iglesia de San Rafael el Jueves, 18 de Octubre de 2018 a las 10 am
