Jonathan "Jon" E. Jordan

JONATHAN E. JORDAN died October 16, 2014 at the age of 52 years old. Jon was born March 14, 1962 in Denver, Colorado to Clifford E. Jordan and Margaret J. Jordan. Since age 4 Jon was raised and made his home in Santa Barbara, California after his family moved there in 1966. Jon attended Laguna Blanca School, Howard School, Bishop Garcia Diego High School and Santa Barbara City College. Jon was an accomplished poet and writer and received a Certificate of Excellence in Poetry from UCLA. He received a degree in Theology; was a devout believer in our Lord Jesus Christ and thoroughly understood and could quote the Bible in an instant. He also extensively studied World Religions, all aspects of Science including Astronomy and read everything Einstein had ever written. Jon was thrilled that he and Albert Einstein shared the same birthday. Jon had a wonderful humorous side to him and could keep people in “stitches” with his humor and jokes. No matter what the day brought Jon, he always had a joke at the ready. He loved having philosophical conversations with his father on all topics from A to Z. He was forever grateful to his mother for the love and encouragement she always gave him throughout his life. Jon was elated at the birth of his grandnephew, Jameson and said that he could always see the Holy Spirit shining through Jameson’s eyes. He loved dogs and was looking forward to a day in the near future when he could adopt a dog in need of the love and care that Jon had to give. Jon is survived by his daughter, Wendy Kathleen Jordan; mother, Margaret Jean Jordan; sister, Deborah Susan Jordan; nephew, Robert Jordan Buchan (Michele Buchan; Child: Jameson Jordan Buchan); niece, Laura Jean Krenkel (James Krenkel; Child: Charlee Marie Krenkel); Aunt, Barbara Joann Franklin; Cousins: Tammi Franklin (Elizabeth Tyree); Patricia Markham (Joseph Markham); Myndi Rohweder (Daniel Rohweder; Children: Joshua, Colten, Audrey and Ethan); Kristina Polizzotto (Keith Polizzotto; Children: Emmalie and Angelina); Katie Khrestsov (Konstantin Khrestsov; Child: Lincoln). Jon was predeceased by his father Clifford E. Jordan, Esq.; Uncle, Jesse W.R. Franklin; Cousin, Joseph Robert Franklin; Grandparents: Joseph R. Conder and Opal E. Conder; Earle Jordan, Clifford C. Weiss and Velda L.Weiss,. The following is an excerpt from a letter Jon wrote to his sister, Debby on June 10, 2014: “To all I say: your followers love you; you are holy and true and as the heir to a mansion in the heaven of Jesus of Nazareth – my word is beyond contestation!” “And the one criminal, crucified next to Jesus, said, Remember me Lord when you come into your Kingdom! Jesus replied: Today, you will be with me in Paradise!” And Jon’s comment to Debby, about the above words he quoted to her from the Bible, was: “If I knew nothing else about Jesus…this would be enough!” J “Anam Cara” Jon.
