Alexander "Alex" Bravo, 86, of Goleta, California passed away Monday, June 26, 2017 after a brief illness. Alex was born June 6, 1931 in Simons, California to Alejandro Bravo and Carmen (Pina) Bravo. He grew up in Santa Monica, CA. He served in the U.S. Army from 1948-1952. He was combat wounded at Chosin Reservoir on December 1, 1950 and received an honorable discharge from the U.S. Army. He was a PFC in the 7th Infantry, 31st Regiment and 57th Field Artillery Battalion. His commendations include: The Purple Heart, 2 Battle Stars, 2 beach landings at Inchon and Iwon, 2 Presidential Citations from the United states and Korea. Alex is survived by his wife of 36 years, Roseanna Bravo; daughters, Gina (Martin) Bell; Deanna (David) Hearth; and Nicole (Brad) Armstrong; granddaughter, Angelina Bernal; grandson, Hayden Armstrong; his sisters, Pauline (Johnny) Martinez, Angelina (Joe) Gasco; Brother Eddie (Louise) Bravo, and his children and grandchildren from a previous marriage. Graveside Services will be held at Goleta Cemetery on Friday, July 7, 2017. Friends are invited to come share their remembrances. A Celebration of his Life will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, the family requests you make a donation to the Wounded Warrior Project or Gary Sinise Foundation.
