Faye Lannaccone
October 1, 1923 - December 7, 2017
October 1, 1923 - December 7, 2017 Faye (Filomena) Morabito was the daughter of Italian immigrants, Pasquale (Patsy) Morabito and Carmela (Cora) Dalesandro. Born in Utica, NY and raised in Rochester, she grew up with her older brother Joseph and her three younger siblings Mary, Mildred, and Daniel. She married Laurence Iannaccone on March 16, 1947, after a 7-year long-distance courtship that spanned the end of the depression and the whole of WWII. Faye devoted her life to service: running a small tailor shop while Laurence completed college; serving as de-factoadministrative assistant and financial manager throughout his long and distinguished career as a university professor; raising two sons; hosting numerous guests and preparing countless extraordinary dinners; caring for both her mother and mother-in-law in the last years of their lives; serving as head cook and counselor at scores of Christian conferences, youth camps, and retreats; volunteering at churches; and corresponding with hundreds of people struggling with illness or loss. Faye will be dearly remembered and deeply missed by hundreds of friends and relatives, but most especially by her sons, Laurence Jr. and Paul, her daughters-in-law, Carrie and Annette, and her grandchildren, Andrew and Nicole. Faye left this world without regrets, fears, or suffering -- profoundly grateful for a long and healthy life blessed by friendships, family love, and a marriage that continued until Laurence's death in 2011. Her prayers to "live independently and go to sleep quietly" were answered, along with the added blessing of two final days in which was able to say her goodbyes while remaining as sharp, loving, and cheerful as ever -- joyful at the prospect of being with the God she had served so faithfully and the man she loved with all her heart since they met as 16-year-olds. Faye and Laurence are now buried side-by-side at Goleta Cemetery. A Memorial Service will be held at 2 pm, Friday, January 19 at New Life Church, 50 E. Alamar. Santa Barbara, CA, with streaming video on www.facebook.com/newlifechurchtv. In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation to www.CampBlessing.com, which Faye and Laurence founded in 1963 and which runs free camps and retreats for youth and families all over America.
